Abstract
El terror, la persecución, el secuestro, la desaparición y la búsqueda desesperada de miembros de la comunidad judía durante la última dictadura cívico-militar ocurrida en Argentina (1976-1983) marcan el contexto del presente artículo. En él se analizan las actividades llevadas a cabo por un reducido grupo de judíos, orientadas a denunciar el antisemitismo y las violaciones contra los derechos humanos cometidas por la dictadura, incluyendo la liberación de las víctimas o la averiguación de su destino. Estas acciones condujeron, hacia finales del período en estudio, a la formación del Movimiento Judío por los Derechos Humanos. Luego de señalar las características principales de un movimiento social, el trabajo indaga sobre aquellas que se corresponden con el Movimiento Judío por los Derechos Humanos: los antecedentes de sus miembros, las primeras conversaciones, las acciones emprendidas para enfrentar a la dictadura y su constitución. Incluye los conflictos desatados no solo frente al régimen dictatorial, sino —y particularmente— dentro de la comunidad judía. El artículo culmina con la descripción de las circunstancias que determinaron su progresivo declive, hasta su final, ya avanzados los tiempos democráticos.
