Abstract
Résumé Le diabète de type 2 (DT2) récent est potentiellement réversible et nous devons pouvoir le dire aux patients. Cela peut accroître leur motivation à suivre le traitement médicamenteux prescrit, évaluer régulièrement leur équilibre glycémique et mettre en place des changements de comportements. Outre la nutrition et la perte de poids, le réentraînement à l’effort en endurance est une des clés pour inverser le cours « naturel » du DT2. L’éducation devient alors vraiment thérapeutique lorsqu’elle permet à des patients d’entrer en rémission. Pour cela, les soignants-éducateurs s’appuient sur les ressources des patients, tiennent compte de leur vécu, parient sur la capacité des individus à appréhender la complexité de la maladie et permettent aux patients de vivre une réelle transformation.
