Thermodynamic geometry of black holes in AdS space with nonlinear electrodynamics

Abstract
Making use of Ruppeiner scalar curvature we study the microstructure of AdS black holes with nonlinear electrodynamics in an extended phase space as a thermodynamic system. Starting with AdS magnetic black holes, the small/large black hole phase transitions are investigated similar as that of a van der Waals fluid. We observed that the Ricci scalar mostly is negative showing the attractive interactions of the fluid microstructures and at a critical temperature the scalar curvature possesses a singularity. The expression for the dividing point v d is obtained, where the normalized scalar curvature vanishes, and divides attractive and repulsive interaction regions between microstructure states of a black hole. For small specific volume ( v < v d , v = 2 r + ) at some parameters ( q m > β ) the scalar curvature is positive indicating on repulsive interactions between neighboring points of a black hole. Thus, the microstructures of magnetically charged AdS black holes are studied from a geometric thermodynamics.
