1En nous invitant, dans son rcent ouvrage, couter la bande dessine , Benot Glaude prend d'emble le contrepied d'un clich durable : l'ide selon laquelle la bande dessine serait un mdia essentiellement et exclusivement visuel.voquant les multiples pratiques sonores qui la concernent depuis fort longtemps, telles les lectures voix haute de l'enfance, l'auteur procde un double dcentrement : il souligne premirement la multisensorialit de la bande dessine, c'est--dire le fait que sa consommation engage l'oue, le toucher, voire mme le got (par synesthsie mais aussi au sens propre, dans ses rceptions pragmatiques), et deuximement son intermdialit, puisqu'historiquement elle s'est trouve associe une pluralit d'objets et de mdias (tlphone, phonographe, magazine, radio, disque, film fixe, tlvision) qui ont dfini une culture partage de la modernit sonore 1 au sein de laquelle la bande dessine a t lue, raconte, adapte, commente, performe, chante ou joue.Le livre se concentre en effet sur les mises en voix c'est--dire les formes vocales de sonorisation de la bande dessine et dploie une histoire culturelle et matrielle allant des annes 1930 aujourd'hui, partir d'exemples tirs du corpus franco-belge.
