Abstract
L’article revient sur la manière dont le magazine permet de donner corps aux nouvelles formes de cultures médiatiques, les subcultures jeunes qui fleurissent à l’international après les années 1950. La publication de la revue culte Enfer Magazine entre 1983 et 1987 s’adresse à une communauté d’amateurs de hard rock, musique et idéologie américaine relativement exotique pour la France des années 1980. Tenant lieu tant de vitrine spécialisée que de (proto)réseau social, elle organise par voie postale la circulation des biens et des connaissances nécessaires à la propagation d’une culture commune et à la reproduction du monde de l’art. Dans ses pages, se tissent les réseaux imaginaires qui construisent virtuellement l’univers hard et forment les « fans », ces consommateurs prosélytes, pro-actifs et désormais super-outillés, prétendant eux-mêmes à une forme d’expertise.
