Abstract
A research project undertaken by two faculty members at Mount Royal University to support student stress reduction is described.An existing wellness tool, BreathingRoom TM was used within the course curriculum as a pedagogical approach to assist with stress reduction and skill building for resilience.Qualitative data from the research project is discussed, highlighting the importance of collaborating across an institution, contributing to student learning, self-care and mental health.Results show students appreciate the use of self-care tools within curriculum but also shared important feedback about the BreathingRoom TM , helping these researchers to consider broadening their approach.
