Sarcopenia is common in various cancer types and predicts mortality [1]. However, many studies have solely focused on the predictive value of computerized tomography skeletal muscle index as a single criterion for sarcopenia. The HandGrip Strength (HGS) measurement, a simple and quick method, is recommended by the revised European Working Group on Sarcopenia in Older People (EWGSOP2) consensus for routine sarcopenia detection [2].
