Abstract
ABSTRACT A dual‐winding magnetic coupling inverter based on a new type of switched‐coupled‐inductors cell with three ports is proposed. Thanks to the different structure of the coupled inductors, the proposed three‐port tapped switched‐coupled‐inductor cell‐based inverter (3PTSCLI) provides a higher voltage gain with fewer winding turns compared with its counterparts. Likewise, due to the redesigned structure of the proposed inverter, the total voltage stress across the capacitors is reduced compared with similar topologies, resulting in reduced cost and size for the system. Additionally, the proposed inverter offers desired AC output voltage with a high modulation index, leading to high waveform quality and low stress across the semiconductors. Furthermore, the proposed inverter draws a low‐ripple, continuous current from the input DC source. Hence, it can be an ideal choice for renewable energy sources. In addition, the proposed inverter provides a capacitive high‐frequency loop to mitigate the effects of leakage inductance of the coupled inductors and voltage spikes across the inverter bridge. Experimental validation confirms the effectiveness of the proposed three‐phase inverter in maintaining stable operation under varying load conditions. The inverter operates with an input voltage of 72 V and delivers an output RMS value of 110 V, supplying 620 W of power. The results demonstrate its reliable performance and suitability for power conversion applications.
