Abstract
А н н о т а ц и я : Статья посвящена памяти антрополога М.А.Членова (1940-2024) и описывает его вклады в три области знания: североведение, индонезийские исследования и иудаику.Закончив МГУ по востоковедной специальности и проведя два года переводческой практики в Восточной Индонезии, Членов защитил диссертацию об этнической истории Молуккских островов, но политическая ситуация второй половины 1960-х гг.вынудила его оставить индонезистику и заняться изучением более доступной Сибири и Арктики.Он сделал вклад в изучение социальной организации азиатских эскимосов, открыл древний памятник, который назвал «Китовая аллея».В 1970-е гг.Членов также начал изучать и преподавать иврит для евреев-«отказников», занимался историей еврейского народа и еврейскими группами на территории бывшего СССР.Он был человеком энциклопедических знаний и автором фундаментальных работ во всех областях своих интересов.
