Abstract

Ce dossier, consacré aux écritures manifestaires et leurs enjeux pour une représentation de soi, aspire à proposer une réflexion sur les différentes possibilités auxquelles les écritures ont pu donner lieu en termes de constitution d’ethos. En ouverture, trois contributions envisagent le manifeste au travers de différentes approches théoriques (la question du genre littéraire, celle des études de genre et celle de la poétique du support). Trois études de cas sont ensuite orientées vers l’avant-garde, dont l’investissement manifestaire a été aussi prolifique que varié. En guise de conclusion, un article d’ouverture prolonge la réflexion jusqu’au xxie siècle, avec une étude des multiples « jeux de langage » (Wittgenstein) auxquels donne lieu aujourd’hui le mot manifeste.
