Abstract
Prenant racine dans l’ouvrage Ourse bleue – Piciskanâw mask iskwew − catalogue faisant un retour sur les quarante années de pratique visuelle de Virginia Pesemapeo Bordeleau −, cet article propose à la fois un survol des thématiques abordées par cette production multidisciplinaire et l’étude d’un leitmotiv qui la traverse, soit ce qui apparaît être une volonté de conférer une matérialité et une vitalité aux mémoires eeyou. L’autrice invite à considérer l’art de Pesemapeo Bordeleau comme un processus archéologique permettant une stratification matérielle, iconographique et narrative de récits collectifs et intimes en résurgence. En résulte ainsi un renversement des violences coloniales spatialisées (inondations, déracinements, etc.) par une reconnexion entre les acteurs (humains et non humains) et les territoires ancestraux eeyous, tant physiques que mythologiques, qui animent ces oeuvres.
