Abstract
L’un des moyens de propagation de la philosophie de Jean-Baptiste Joseph Fourier se fit à travers la publication de deux périodiques : La Phalange , publié de 1836 à 1843, puis La Démocratie pacifique , publié de 1843 à son arrêt au début du Second Empire en novembre 1851. Dès le début, les publications proposèrent non seulement des comptes rendus sur l’actualité des concerts et des événements scéniques, mais aussi des essais plus discursifs sur la musique. À partir de 1838, le critique Allyre Bureau est au coeur de cette activité. Il rédige deux articles par mois pendant la décennie suivante et au-delà. Les textes de ses collègues et les siens dans La Phalange et La Démocratie pacifique rapprochent la musique de la philosophie des fouriéristes. L’article analyse ces rapprochements et le discours social et musical qui se déploie au sein des deux journaux.
