Abstract
Cet article se penche sur la présence de nombreuses partitions musicales publiées dans la presse quotidienne du xixe siècle français. Issu d’un échantillon de 13 journaux, un corpus de près de 1000 partitions permet de réfléchir à cette présence de « l’écriture » musicale au sein de l’écriture périodique, pour montrer notamment quels rôles et fonctions ces partitions peuvent remplir. L’auteur propose d’y voir une sorte de langage proprement médiatique, qui récupère la pratique ancienne du « petit format » (partitions vendues bon marché depuis le début du siècle) au sein de la quotidienneté, tout en établissant des relations de proximité et d’échanges avec certaines poétiques médiatiques, comme le feuilleton, le récit d’actualité ou encore la chronique populaire.
