La rehabilitación de lesiones musculoesqueléticas en jugadores de baloncesto es un reto común, dado el alto nivel de exigencia física y el riesgo de que las lesiones se repitan. En la literatura, el quiromasaje terapéutico ha sido destacado como una técnica efectiva para mejorar la recuperación funcional y reducir el dolor en este grupo. Este estudio se propuso evaluar la efectividad del quiromasaje en la rehabilitación de lesiones en jugadores de baloncesto de entre 18 y 30 años. Se llevó a cabo una intervención experimental con 45 deportistas, quienes participaron en un programa de quiromasaje durante cuatro semanas, con tres sesiones semanales de 45 minutos cada una. Se aplicaron técnicas manuales que se adaptaron progresivamente para maximizar la recuperación. La evaluación antes y después del tratamiento consideró indicadores subjetivos de percepción del dolor y funcionalidad motora a través de cuestionarios estructurados, así como objetivos mediante el Cuestionario de Dolor de McGill (MPQ). Los resultados revelaron mejoras significativas en todas las variables analizadas. La percepción del dolor disminuyó notablemente de 4,02 a 2,18 puntos (p < 0,001), mientras que la funcionalidad motora aumentó de 2,11 a 4,01 (p < 0,001). En las dimensiones sensorial, afectiva y evaluativa del MPQ, se observaron reducciones significativas con valores p < 0,001. Estos hallazgos demuestran que el quiromasaje ayudó a reducir el dolor y a mejorar la funcionalidad en los deportistas tratados. Se concluyó que el quiromasaje es una herramienta terapéutica eficaz para la rehabilitación de lesiones musculoesqueléticas en jóvenes jugadores de baloncesto, promoviendo una recuperación funcional óptima y un bienestar integral.
