fetched live from OpenAlex

Abstract. This study discusses the development of cultural tourism in Margacinta Village. The village has authentic and diverse cultural tourism potential but faces various challenges. This study aims to formulate a cultural tourism development strategy that Margacinta Village needs in order to become a leading cultural tourism destination in Pangandaran Regency. The method used includes a mixed methods approach, with supply and demand analysis methods, qualitative descriptive analysis, and SWOT analysis. The results of the analysis show that although the village has strengths such as the badud performance art which is registered as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage, there are weaknesses in the quality of human resources and inadequate facilities. Opportunities of government support and partnerships can be utilized, while threats of competition with other destinations need to be watched out for. The proposed strategies include organizing community empowerment programs. There is a need to increase the 5A components of cultural tourism. Making cultural tourism a prioritized sector. Creating cultural tourism packages and cultural activities. With these steps, Margacinta Village is expected to become a leading cultural tourism destination in Pangandaran Regency as well as an effort to preserve cultural heritage.
