Abstract
The article examines the development of electronic transport as a key element of the modernization process of public transport system in the context of growing urbanization. The experience of introducing electric buses in Moscow, cities of China, Canada and the UK is analyzed. Special attention is paid to the technical characteristics of modern electric buses, the specifics of their maintenance and charging infrastructure. Statistical data on the number of electric buses in various megacities is presented. The problems and prospects of electric transport development in cities with different population densities and climatic conditions are considered.
