Abstract
The article is a tribute to the memory of Ukrainian scholars of religion to the famous Ukrainian theologian, church and public figure from Canada, professor and priest Stepan Yarmus, who turned 100 in May 2025. The presented biography briefly describes the life path of an outstanding Ukrainian, determines his contribution to the establishment and development of Ukrainian Orthodoxy. The article emphasizes that long-term residence abroad did not change the worldview and faith of Father Stepan Yarmus. He remained a Ukrainian and an Orthodox Christian. Holding prominent positions in the Ukrainian Greek Orthodox Church (UGOC), the father in every way contributed to the preservation of its national face, the Ukrainian Orthodox tradition. The printed works of the father-doctor, which are partially analyzed in the article, are an example of living Ukrainian theological thought, which is currently experiencing a new period of its revival. With the emergence of the Church of the Kyiv Patriarchate, the professor-theologian joined the ranks of those who supported its formation and development, became a professor at its Theological Academy and an honorary employee of the Department of Religious Studies of the G.S. Skovoroda Institute of Philosophy of the NAS of Ukraine.
