Soutenu par une atmosphère languissante, le mal être prégnant sur lequel se focalise la musique de PNL découlerait d’un détachement collectif qu’induirait le sentiment de marginalisation des membres du groupe. Leur esthétique rapologique se construit à partir d’un imaginaire des bas-fonds issu d’un contexte hexagonal contemporain. Le médium artistique inédit que compose le rap se forme à partir d’une triple dimension : discursive, musicale et littéraire. Faisant partie intégrante de son oeuvre et dépendant de son identité, l’ethos du rappeur oriente son discours et l’affirme face à un ou des adversaires. Par l’élaboration du « je » rapologique, la représentation de l’espace, l’intertextualité et la forme langagière, PNL produit une énonciation empreinte d’une oralité forte et tributaire d’un « nous » contre un « eux ». Du fait de cette dynamique agonistique, les textes du groupe traduiraient la quête émancipatrice des sujets confrontés à un état de misère socioculturel duquel ils tentent de s’expurger. La posture autarcique prise par les rappeurs serait le témoignage le plus probant de la recherche de cette souveraineté.
