Abstract
The Ascyrus Medical Dissection Stent (AMDS) is a hybrid arch prosthesis designed to facilitate extended arch repair by promoting true lumen expansion, aortic remodeling, and reducing the risk of distal anastamotic new entry tear in patients with acute type A aortic dissection.1,2 A substudy of the DARTS (Dissected Aorta Repair Through Stent Implantation) trial reported a 13% reintervention rate after AMDS implantation, where some patients with false lumen (FL) communications involving the supra-aortic branch vessels experience significant growth at aortic zone 3.
