Abstract
Le présent article examine la question de sécuritisation et de criminalisation de la migration en Algérie qui a privilégié, dès le début, un traitement sécuritaire. Adoptant l’approche de la sécuritisation comme cadre théorique, il analyse le processus de sécuritisation de l’immigration et son évolution. Il examine l’irruption sécuritaire de la question migratoire et la manière dont l’immigration a été élevée au rang de menace. Il analyse également la forte implication des champs sécuritaire et militaire dans le processus de sécuritisation ainsi que d’autres champs, en l’occurrence religieux et journalistique. Il en conclut qu’en raison de la configuration migratoire prévalant en Algérie, le traitement sécuritaire a été d’emblée assigné à la question migratoire sans passer par la sphère socio-économique, et que c’est précisément cette approche sécuritaire, avec ses limites et ses conséquences, qui pourrait, paradoxalement, pousser à placer aussi la question migratoire dans le domaine socio-économique.
