La notion de territoire est encore peu intégrée dans les modèles théoriques les plus couramment utilisés en travail social. Dans la présente étude, réalisée pour notre mémoire de maîtrise, nous souhaitons circonscrire les enjeux relatifs au déplacement dans le cadre de l’intervention sociale en milieu rural, en nous intéressant à la réalité des intervenantes œuvrant dans la MRC La Haute-Côte-Nord, dans la province de Québec, territoire essentiellement rural et défavorisé. Le modèle d’Augustin et ses collègues (2023), mobilisé ici, intègre les notions d’espace aux différentes échelles systémiques, du lieu d’habitation aux espaces globalisés, ainsi que les boucles de rétroaction entre les échelons. En permettant d’enrichir l’analyse des réalités inscrites dans la complexité des interactions avec la dimension spatiale, il permet de rendre compte des défis et des stratégies rencontrées par les intervenantes sur un territoire où cette dimension est centrale dans leur travail, réalités que nous présenterons également ici à travers les résultats préliminaires de notre recherche.
