The influence of trapped hydrogen on the passivity of iron oxides
Bibliographic record
Abstract
The influence of cathodic charging on the passivity of iron oxides was investigated on X65 and X70 pipeline steels. The microstructure of X65 and X70 dictates the amount of hydrogen that could be trapped and subsequently desorbed during both potentiodynamic polarization scans and corrosion potential measurements. X65 was found to be more susceptible to hydrogen trapping and subsequent enhanced anodic dissolution due to a microstructure comprising pearlite and ferrite, compared to X70, which is almost a single-phase ferrite. • Trapped hydrogen accelerates corrosion by degrading surface oxides. • Reversible trapped hydrogen is dominantly located at ferrite/pearlite grain boundaries. • Microstructure of steel will influence susceptibility to breakdown of the passive film.

Teacher imitationNot calibrated prevalence, not ground truth. Human validation pending. The Gemma side is a direct model label for every work in the frame, read from the title-only record. The Codex side is a classifier learned from the 10,348 direct Codex labels and calibrated to design-weighted sample rates; fields without enough sample support carry no Codex call. Candidate is the union of the two sides; consensus is their intersection. These outputs are machine_predicted_unvalidated and are not human labels.

Machine scores (provisional)
The two teacher heads of the student model, read on this work. A score orders the frame for review; it never asserts a category, and the validation status ships verbatim with every row.
Baseline scores from an immature model (maturity gate not passed, 7 training rounds). Scores rank; they never assert a category.
score_only:v0-immature-baseline · verbatim from the scoring run: score_only means the number may rank works, and no category label ships from itClassification
machine, unvalidatedMachine predicted; a candidate call from one source (direct Gemma or distilled Codex), not a consensus.
