RESUMO Objetivo: Compreender a percepção e o conhecimento dos adultos emergentes universitários sobre as consequências do consumo excessivo de bebidas alcoólicas para a saúde biopsicossocial, bem-estar atual e futuro das pessoas. Método: Trata-se de um estudo exploratório, descritivo e de abordagem qualitativa, realizado com 31 estudantes universitários. Um formulário com código QR foi divulgado online para informar sobre a pesquisa. A coleta de dados foi conduzida por meio de entrevista semiestruturada. Os dados foram transcritos por meio do software Turbo Scribe e os discursos analisados com o auxílio do software Atlas.ti, utilizando a técnica de análise de conteúdo. Resultados: Existe uma lacuna no conhecimento dos participantes sobre o que é o consumo excessivo de bebidas alcoólicas e as suas repercussões para a saúde. Conclui-se que é fundamental promover campanhas contínuas de conscientização e educação em saúde, a fim de ampliar o conhecimento e favorecer decisões conscientes quanto ao consumo de álcool.
