KEBERHASILAN TERAPI LUKA BAKAR SUPERFICIAL PARTIAL-THICKNESS DENGAN ASTAXANTHIN SISTEMIK DAN TOPIKAL: SEBUAH LAPORAN KASUS

Abstract
ABSTRAK Luka bakar pada kulit terjadi ketika sebagian atau seluruh lapisan kulit rusak akibat energi fisik. Paska terjadi luka bakar, beberapa faktor seperti iskemia, stres oksidatif, peradangan, dan kematian sel (nekrosis atau apoptosis), berkontribusi terhadap konversi luka bakar menjadi lebih luas atau lebih dalam dari lokasi awal. Astaxanthin (ASX) merupakan karotenoid alami yang memiliki efek antioksidan yang kuat dan anti-inflamasi sehingga sangat berperan dalam penyembuhan luka, termasuk luka bakar. Dilaporkan satu kasus luka bakar derajat dua (superficial partial-thickness) akibat terkena air panas pada seorang perempuan berusia 28 tahun dengan tipe kulit Fitzpatrick III.
