Abstract
Abstract In this case, we describe the successful management of a vertebral subluxation secondary to diskospondylitis with an external fixator in a dog and provide sequential computed tomography scan images that showcase the progressive bone remodelling until almost complete vertebral body fusion is achieved. A 5‐year‐old, male, entire dachshund referred for a progressive history of severe spinal pain and kyphosis was diagnosed with a T13–L1 spinal subluxation secondary to diskospondylitis. Surgical stabilisation was performed with an external fixator, and the patient was followed closely for 50 weeks until the implant could be removed. At the time of writing this article, the patient's owner reports full resolution of the clinical signs, with normal motor function and no signs of spinal pain or discomfort.
