Abstract
La poesía caribeña contemporánea tematiza el agotamiento de los grandes modelos históricos de sociedad en la región, a saber, el Estado Libre Asociado en Puerto Rico, la Revolución cubana y la democracia de la posguerra civil en República Dominicana. Aparte de revelar las fisuras de la crisis, la producción poética antillana del nuevo milenio ensaya miradas que apuntan a horizontes utópicos. La obra de Mara Pastor, recogida en Deuda natal, revela estas coordenadas. En su poesía sobresale la mirada del sujeto a los escenarios de la ruina no para inventariar el desastre de Puerto Rico, sino para ahondar en la vivencia, en un gesto que termina develando la promesa de una salida tan personal como política.
