De Moncton à Jonesville : l’imaginaire urbain et environnemental dans <i>Sacrée Montagne de fou</i> d’Ulysse Landry

Abstract
Cet article propose une analyse du roman Sacrée Montagne de fou (1996) de l’écrivain acadien Ulysse Landry, une oeuvre qui mérite une attention renouvelée tant pour la représentation singulière qu’elle propose de la ville de Moncton (rebaptisée « Jonesville ») que pour le discours environnemental qui y est développé. Contrairement aux écrivains phares de la littérature urbaine acadienne tels que Gérald Leblanc et France Daigle, qui ont contribué à mythifier Moncton en tant que « capitale littéraire », Landry dépeint un espace urbain dystopique et aliénant. L’étude examine d’abord l’usage du motif du « village planétaire » comme outil de dénonciation des dérives sociales et écologiques du néolibéralisme. Elle met ensuite en lumière la conscience environnementale explicite qui traverse le roman. En replaçant Sacrée Montagne de fou dans une perspective critique renouvelée, l’article vise à réévaluer la contribution de Landry au corpus littéraire acadien contemporain.
