Abstract
Une évaluation du Ciné-Moi, comme pratique de médiation culturelle, fut réalisée afin de documenter l’impact de cette initiative sur le bien-être psychologique des participants. Des données qualitatives ont été recueillies auprès de 18 adultes par l’entremise d’observations participantes et d’entrevues. L’analyse thématique révèle que l’initiative contribue au bien-être psychologique par l’accroissement des connaissances liées à la santé mentale, à l’acquisition d’une vision plus humanisante et empathique d’autrui, à une plus grande acceptation et bienveillance envers soi ainsi qu’à un sentiment accru d’appartenance à sa communauté. Cette étude permet de documenter les retombées perçues d’une approche novatrice utilisant le cinéma pour discuter de santé mentale.
