La descripción original de Pyramidobela compulsa Meyrick, 1931 se basó en caracteres morfológicos externos de un único ejemplar macho, recolectado en la localidad chilena de Casa Pangue, Llanquihue; desde entonces, no existen nuevos registros de este lepidóptero en la literatura. En este trabajo se redescribe la especie a partir de fotografías del holotipo y de ejemplares adicionales recolectados en La Cruz, Quillota (Chile). Se presentan caracteres diagnósticos para la especie y fotografías del macho adulto; se describen por primera vez las estructuras genitales de ambos sexos, se amplía su ámbito geográfico hacia la zona central de Chile y se reporta a Buddleja globosa Hope (Scrophulariaceae) como su planta hospedante.
