Abstract
Résumé Introduction Plusieurs enfants intellectuellement doués présentent des vulnérabilités que leurs parents accompagnent au quotidien, dans des communautés où la complexité de la douance demeure souvent méconnue. Objectif Cette étude qualitative dresse un portrait des difficultés de parents d’enfants doués telles que vécues face à la communauté. Méthode Les 180 parents participants ont décrit leur expérience via un questionnaire en ligne sécurisé. Les données ont fait l’objet d’une analyse thématique. Résultats Les résultats dépeignent, d’une part, l’expérience vécue par les parents eux-mêmes face à la communauté et, d’autre part, les réactions face à la douance qu’ils perçoivent dans la communauté et qu’ils associent à leurs difficultés. Conclusion L’importance de la sensibilisation sociale et de la formation sur la douance est discutée.
