Dans un contexte post-COVID-19, la France et l’Espagne s’adaptent aux nouvelles exigences des touristes dans le domaine environnemental et de la diversité des activités de loisirs et d’affaires. Cette analyse comparée des stratégies touristiques de la France et de l’Espagne à l’horizon 2030 se concentre sur la durabilité de la pratique touristique et le problème de la gestion des flux touristiques liée au surtourisme. Cette comparaison combine l’analyse statistique et le codage qualitatif à partir des plans stratégiques nationaux. L’Espagne se concentre sur l’adaptation de ses territoires et la diversification des produits touristiques en y incorporant des pratiques de mobilité douce ; tandis que la France pose le principe d’une meilleure compétitivité face à la concurrence et au prolongement des séjours internationaux grâce à la gestion des données pour orienter sa stratégie de diffusion commerciale. Concernant l’Espagne, une stratégie globale propose une nouvelle planification climato-touristique avec pour objectif de transformer le secteur tout en favorisant l’équité sociale et territoriale. Quant à la France, les grands événements sont privilégiés comme les Jeux olympiques et paralympiques de 2024. De l’échelle mondiale à l’échelle locale, on souligne une prise en compte impérieuse par les instances de gouvernance du tourisme national des objectifs du développement durable.
