Abstract
À travers l’analyse du long-métrage Blood Quantum de Jeff Barnaby (miq’maw) et des renvois à l’oeuvre vidéo Ekoci Nehirowatcihotan d’Alexandre Nequado (attikamekw), cet article propose une réflexion sur les relations de soin, la gestion de la maladie et la métaphore de l’épidémie pour mieux réfléchir à l’impact du colonialisme sur les communautés et les personnes autochtones. Par l’inscription de ces oeuvres dans une filiation artistique avec la tradition du documentaire de résistance d’Alanis Obomsawin, et par la création d’un dialogue avec un corpus théorique des études autochtones (Whyte, Raheja, Robinson) et de philosophie éthique (Tessman), l’article montre en quoi ces films offrent un commentaire esthétique et politique sur notre histoire partagée et les maux qui nous affligent de manière différenciée. La notion de crise est convoquée, sur fond pandémique, afin de montrer comment le cinéma autochtone tente de faire sens et de transformer les moments de crise.
