Abstract
Cet article explore comment le cinéma peut représenter et faire ressentir la maladie à travers le film De son vivant . En effet, bien que les malades soient les plus légitimes pour parler de leur expérience, le cinéma peut offrir des possibilités de donner à voir et à entendre la maladie. À travers les dispositifs utilisés dans le film, la réalisatrice Emmanuelle Bercot aborde notamment l’expérience de la vie avec la maladie, dans le rapport au corps, à la solitude et à l’attente, mais aussi la relation avec les proches et les professionnels de santé. Devant les images-mouvements qui mi-montrent plutôt que de tenter de tout donner à voir, le spectateur est amené à réfléchir à sa propre mortalité. Le cinéma peut offrir une représentation délicate et nuancée de l’expérience de la maladie, en utilisant des dispositifs esthétiques rendant sensible cette expérience pour le spectateur.
