Abstract
Historicamente, o padrão estético associado aos afrodescendentes foi subestimado devido ao estereótipo europeu, que privilegiava a beleza branca em detrimento da negra. Nos últimos anos, a televisão e as redes sociais têm ampliado a visibilidade da população negra, ainda que frequentemente sob estigmas ou idealizações estéticas excludentes. Este artigo tem como objetivo apresentar a influência da televisão e das redes sociais na construção dos padrões de beleza associados às pessoas negras. Trata-se de uma revisão narrativa de caráter descritivo, baseada na análise de documentos selecionados na base de dados SciELO, entre os anos de 2012 e 2024, utilizando descritores como “padrões estéticos”, “étnico-racial”, “mídia” e “estética”. Foram incluídas publicações em português e inglês, totalizando 33 documentos utilizados na redação do trabalho. Os resultados evidenciam que, embora haja avanços na representatividade, a mídia ainda tende a reproduzir padrões estéticos que invisibilizam traços negros, o que reforça a necessidade de práticas comunicacionais mais inclusivas e diversas.
