Simultaneous optimisation of short-term production scheduling with blast block model in open pit mines using a new search algorithm

Abstract
The model generates a short-term production scheduling that maximises revenue over the lifetime of each level of mine. The developed search algorithm, searchs each level of the mine, finds the optimal dimensions for blasting blocks with maximum economic value, determines the precise geologic location of waste and ore blasting blocks, the priority of ore and waste production and outputs weight, and average grade of the blasting blocks. Therefore, the contribution of this study is in two aspects: finding the optimal dimension and location of blasting blocks to maximise their economic value and an optimal production scheduling to maximise the revenue.
