Abstract
Abstract Global leadership for a sustainable future promotes resilient and sustainable societies and organizations as well as all people's well-being. This chapter argues the need for globally competent public leaders who have the knowledge, skills, and abilities to transverse the dynamic and ever-changing environment for a thriving future for all. The chapter provides an overview of the leadership theories, competencies, and identities emerged from diverse disciplines and global leadership contexts. With a brief introduction of each chapter, the chapter invites readers to engage in global conversation about sustainable leadership that inspires responsible public leadership solutions to the significant global challenges affecting the public and non-profit sectors, including education, government, non-profit organization, community organization, and international development.
