Abstract
En France, la question de l’introduction de l’éducation sexuelle à l’école est apparue dès le début du xxe siècle. Cette éducation s’est progressivement institutionnalisée, jusqu’à l’inscription dans la loi en 2001 et la mise au point d’un programme détaillé en 2025. Mais la réitération des circulaires ministérielles, en 2018 et en 2022, témoigne de décalage entre les prescriptions et la réalité sur le terrain. De fait, l’éducation à la sexualité demeure une «question socialement vive». C’est sur cette permanence que s’interroge cet article, sur la base d’un corpus d’archives associant des fonds publics (Archives nationales) à des sources imprimées (revues pédagogiques et d’associations) et exploité au moyen d’une analyse de contenu soucieuse de contextualisation et attentive à ce que la controverse publique produit elle-même sur le contexte.
