Abstract
En recourant à la textométrie, un article de 2023 a montré qu’entre les programmes de partis politiques populistes et ceux de partis non populistes, il y avait peu de différence sinon une insistance sur l’économie dans les programmes populistes et une valorisation de l’équité sociale et de l’intervention écologiste dans les programmes non populistes. Dans le prolongement de ces analyses, cet article-ci compare des programmes populistes selon qu’ils sont de gauche ou de droite. Dans les programmes de la droite, il découvre un fort nationalisme et des griefs contre l’étranger et l’immigration. Dans les programmes de la gauche, il note une opposition entre les « travailleurs » et les « gens », d’une part, et les « multinationales » et les « banques », d’autre part ; il observe également une dénonciation du rôle du monde des affaires, lequel est tenu responsable des problèmes liés au coût de la vie et à l’environnement. Dans les programmes des deux orientations, il constate, par ailleurs, des similitudes sur des thèmes comme l’éducation, la santé ou l’agriculture.
