Abstract
Cet article explore le champ de l'anthropologie existentiale à partir des deux principaux auteurs qui se réclament de cette anthropologie: Michaël Jackson et Albert Piette. Leurs approchent nous invitent à reconsidérer l'humain des anthropologues à travers la recherche d'une écriture de l'être, qui vient questionner les fondements d'une anthropologie qualifiée de sociale et culturelle. Une même préoccupation réunit ces deux auteurs: revenir au vécu humain, sans l'écraser au profit d'un système opérant dans l'ombre et qu'il s'agirait de mettre en lumière, qu'il soit question de société ou de culture, ou encore de système de représentations, de structure sociale, d'activité rituelle, d'univers cosmogonique. L'attention de l'anthropologue finissant par se concentrer exclusivement sur ce système et non plus sur les hommes dans leur existence concrète.
