Des villes et des femmes, suivi de Paris mis à nu (Gallimard, 2025) [Of Cities and Women, Letters to Fawwaz, and Paris, When It’s Naked], two texts written by Etel Adnan in the early 1990s, the first in French, the second in English but under the influence of Baudelaire, consider the lived experience of the city as a journey through exile.
