In February 2014, a salvage excavation was conducted in a building at 3 el-Qirami Street in the Muslim Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem (Permit No. A-7055; map ref. 222052/631687; Fig. 1) before turning it into a residential building. The excavation, undertaken on behalf of the Israel Antiquities Authority and funded by A. A t al, was directed by O. Chalaf (field photography) , with the assistance of N. Nehama (administration), V. Essman and Y. Shmidov (surveying and drafting) , I. Lidsky-Reznikov (finds drawing) and I. Reznitsky (metallurgical laboratory).
