Abstract
Aux normes du roman saphique, qui s’est doté – depuis les romans libertins de la fin du xviii e siècle jusqu’aux écrits fin de siècle – d’un ensemble de normes stylistiques, esthétiques et narratives, Les Demi-sexes , publié en 1897 par Jane de la Vaudère, ne semble pas a priori déroger. Ce registre du trop dit ne saurait pourtant être considéré indifféremment de ce qu’il dissimule : un ensemble de dissonances dans la trame narrative bien ficelée par la tradition décadente et, surtout, un jeu complexe autour du plagiat. Cette profondeur du dit et ce travail de réitération en différence permet d’ouvrir une brèche vers ce qui est dénié par le discours même.
