La prohibición de la amenaza o uso de la fuerza constituye uno de los principios fundamentales del Derecho internacional, hasta el punto de ser calificado como la piedra angular de todo el ordenamiento por su papel esencial en el funcionamiento de todo el sistema internacional. En este conversatorio, diferentes especialistas examinan algunos de los principales retos y amenazas que enfrenta en la actualidad, a saber, el papel del Consejo de Seguridad respecto a la prohibición, la crisis actual de las operaciones de mantenimiento de la paz, su relación con la responsabilidad de proteger, su aplicación en el ciberespacio y en el espacio ultraterrestre, los usos de la fuerza contra misiones diplomáticas y consulares, las implicaciones de la doctrina unwilling or unable y, finalmente, el riesgo que supone la pasividad de los Estados frente a su violación.
