Simulation of pesticide wastewater treatment process using electro‐Fenton method: In situ production of <scp> H <sub>2</sub> O <sub>2</sub> </scp>

Abstract
Abstract In this research, some effective parameters such as current intensity, air flow rate, Fe 2+ catalyst dosage, and reaction time on the mineralization of a pesticide wastewater using the electro‐Fenton process were studied through the simulation technique by computational fluid dynamics. It was confirmed that there is in situ production of H 2 O 2 near the cathode. According to the simulation results, the optimum COD removal (77.1%) was obtained at current intensity of 253 mA, air flow rate of 1.56 L/min, Fe 2+ catalyst dosage of 0.63 g, and reaction time of 126 min which was in good agreement with the experiment extracted from the literature (COD removal of 78.15%).
