Abstract
J’aborde la pensée de Claude Lefort en cherchant à problématiser les motifs de « démocratie », de « pouvoir » et de « lieu vide » dans son oeuvre. N’y a-t-il pas une part énigmatique de ces motifs, trop vite recouverte par les interprètes, et qui, lorsqu’on la laisse se manifester, peut se révéler porteuse d’aperçus féconds à propos des tensions si ce n’est des apories propres au régime démocratique tel qu’il existe maintenant ? L’examen de ces concepts est une occasion de réfléchir également sur le rapport de Lefort à la philosophie de Merleau-Ponty, en particulier aux concepts de « chair du monde » et de « chair du social », de même que sur une dimension qui me paraît souvent négligée dans l’oeuvre de Lefort, soit la critique de ce qu’il désigne comme l’« idéologie invisible ».
