Abstract
Questo saggio analizza il femminismo del salario al lavoro domestico, emerso negli anni Settanta, con particolare attenzione all’esperienza italiana e alla rete transnazionale sviluppata attorno a questa proposta. Il movimento, che riconosceva le mura domestiche come spazio di sfruttamento e il lavoro domestico come attività produttiva, mirava a politicizzare la sfera privata, ponendo le casalinghe come soggetti rivoluzionari. A partire dalla proposta di retribuzione per il lavoro domestico, elaborata da figure come Selma James, Mariarosa Dalla Costa e Silvia Federici, il saggio ricostruisce la nascita di collettivi, pratiche militanti, e teorie che si svilupparono in maniera transnazionale, mettendo in luce il contributo di questa corrente alla ridefinizione del concetto di lavoro e alle connessioni tra genere, classe e razza, evidenziandone sia il potenziale trasformativo sia i limiti. Pur non ottenendo il salario rivendicato, il movimento ha lasciato un’eredità teorica ancora centrale nei femminismi contemporanei.
