Cet article présente les résultats de groupes de discussion menés à Montréal auprès de la population non autochtone, dans le cadre d’une recherche concernant les relations entre Autochtones et non-Autochtones dans les espaces publics urbains au Québec. Il discute des principales représentations sociospatiales véhiculées et de leurs impacts sur la renégociation de ces relations. Il soutient que l’impact des discours nationaux et municipaux actuels concernant la réconciliation est en partie visible dans la population, mais que la majorité des Montréalais et Montréalaises tend à participer, même involontairement, aux processus d’exclusion. Les processus d’altérisation liés au racisme ordinaire continuent à être bien actifs dans les espaces du quotidien, ce qui limite les possibilités de rééquilibrer la relation inégalitaire comme devrait le faire la réconciliation.
