Abstract
Dans son ouvrage intitulé De Groulx à Laferrière : un parcours de la race dans la littérature québécoise , Corrie Scott affirme : « S’il est certain que la question de la race représente une préoccupation internationale, elle est la grande oubliée de la théorie littéraire québécoise. » Je propose ici un argument similaire en regard aux études cinématographiques québécoises francophones via le compte rendu de quelques-uns des plus récents ouvrages publiés en français sur le cinéma québécois, avec pour but de les mettre en conversation avec le récent « retour » dans le monde académique anglophone vers les théories du politicologue afro-américain Cedric Robinson (1940-2016) et son concept de capitalisme racial , aussi bien dans les études autochtones que dans les études noires (et en dialogue d’un champ à l’autre). Mon objectif est d’en déployer l’utilité en études cinématographiques québécoises et, de fait, d’offrir quelques pistes de réflexion permettant de dévoiler et de décentrer la blanchité franco-québécoise en tant que locus du pouvoir dans quelques oeuvres récentes.
