O CICLO DA VIDA: CULTURA, HIGIENIZAÇÃO E SAÚDE NA AGRICULTURA DO RIO GRANDE DO SUL

Abstract
Este artigo investiga os determinantes culturais, territoriais e sociais das práticas de higienização entre agricultores de arroz na região central do Rio Grande do Sul. O estudo se ancora no diálogo entre a Geografia Cultural, a Antropologia Médica e a Sociologia Rural para construir o conceito analítico de "circuito cultural da higienização", entendido como a interação entre a materialidade do território, os sistemas culturais de classificação de risco e as pressões do modelo agroprodutivo. Fundamentado em uma abordagem qualitativa de caráter exploratório-descritivo, a pesquisa utilizou entrevistas semiestruturadas, observação participante e análise temática com 15 agricultores dos municípios de Agudo e Dona Francisca. Os resultados demonstram que as práticas de higiene transcendem protocolos sanitários, configurando-se como expressões de saberes práticos locais (metis) que negociam constantemente com os saberes técnicos hegemônicos. A análise, conduzida pelo referencial adotado, revela que condições materiais (como o acesso à água), os constrangimentos do agronegócio e os mandatos culturais de gênero conformam uma hierarquia de riscos que privilegia perigos visíveis e imediatos em detrimento de ameaças invisíveis, como a contaminação crônica por agrotóxicos. Conclui-se que a efetividade das políticas de saúde depende do reconhecimento desse circuito sociocultural, demandando abordagens dialógicas que promovam a hibridização de conhecimentos em estratégias territorialmente inseridas de cuidado.
