Uniting Academic and Lived Expertise to Promote Housing and Health Equity

Abstract
Housing and health are uniquely intertwined. Both academic and lived expertise have much to contribute toward building a strong, well-grounded evidence base for advancing solutions to homelessness and promoting health equity. In this commentary, we present the two examples of partnerships between academic researchers and people with lived experience of homelessness in New York and California, highlighting the value and potential of this collaborative approach. We also reflect on best practices and lessons learned for replication.
